Transcript Workbench Pro

A native SwiftUI Mac app built around the real drudge work of long interviews, panels, event videos, and social clip requests: transcribe locally, review and correct timecoded text, re-export clean transcript deliverables, find usable moments, and turn notes into editorial material for Final Cut Pro or Premiere.

  • Local Whisper transcription on Mac
  • Review and edit existing transcripts alongside media playback
  • Batch processing for interviews, panels, and events
  • Transcripts formatted for humans, not just computers
  • TXT, SRT, VTT, JSON, and TSV transcript exports
  • Readable timed transcript PDFs
  • Turn emailed clip requests into editable timelines
  • Social clip and selects identification
  • Instant PDF reports for communications directors
  • AI-generated titles, descriptions, and hashtags
  • Final Cut Pro XML and Premiere XML exports
  • Uses your own OpenAI API key for Pro editorial tools

Four workflows

Start from the job in front of you.

Transcribe new media, correct an existing transcript, create social selects, or turn a producer email into Final Cut Pro or Premiere sequences.

Transcribe Media

Transcripts start local, stay local. Whisper runs on your Mac to create state-of-the-art transcripts from audio or video.

Review & Edit Transcript

Correct timecoded transcripts alongside media playback, then export clean PDF, TXT, SRT, VTT, JSON, or TSV files.

Create Social Selects

Identify useful moments with timecode ranges, transcript excerpts, suggested titles, descriptions, hashtags, and a management-facing report explaining why each clip was selected.

Email to Timeline

Get an email. Translate it to a timeline - or several timelines. Turn clip requests into editable Final Cut Pro or Premiere sequences in a few clicks.

Transcript editor

Review, correct, and export with confidence.

Open an existing transcript or continue directly from a local transcription. Follow the recording as it plays, correct timecoded text, find and replace recurring errors, and export clean deliverables in the formats your workflow requires.

Open transcript

Open TXT, SRT, VTT, JSON, TSV, or a timed transcript PDF, or continue directly from a completed local transcription.

Review with media

Play the associated audio or video inside the editor and follow playback as the active timecoded segment is highlighted.

Correct text

Edit transcript text while retaining segment timecodes, then use search and replace to clean up recurring errors.

Export

Choose export formats in Preferences and save corrected PDF, TXT, SRT, VTT, JSON, or TSV files with the standard macOS save workflow.

How it works

Local transcription and editing. Optional AI for editorial prep.

Media transcription and transcript editing happen locally on your Mac and do not require an AI API key. Optional AI workflows use the user's own API key for Social Selects and Email to Timeline after the transcript or request text is ready for editorial prep.
